Stage 0
Severity: At risk
Spirometry: Normal
Stage I
Severity: Mild
Spirometry: FEV1/FVC-ratio <0.7 and FEV1 >= 80% of predicted
Stage IIA
Severity: Moderate
Spirometry: FEV1/FVC-ratio <0.7 and FEV1 between 50%-80% of predicted
Stage III
Severity: Severe
Spirometry: FEV1/FVC-ratio <0.7 and FEV1 between 30%-50% of predicted
Stage IV
Severity: Very severe
Spirometry: FEV1/FVC-ratio <0.7 and FEV1 <30% of predicted, or
FEV1 <50% predicted with respiratory failure or signs of right heart failure
